How we bake our waffles

Preparing the dough

Flour, butter, sugar, yeast and spices are mixed into a smooth dough. The exact blend is a secret, but it forms the foundation of our characteristic flavour and texture.

Baking the waffles

Balls of dough are baked manually in a cast-iron waffle iron. This is done by feel and experience, just long enough to create a golden brown exterior and a soft interior.

Cutting the waffle open

Directly after baking, the warm waffle is sliced horizontally. This requires speed and precision, because the waffle is still soft and delicate at that moment.

Adding the syrup

The syrup, slowly cooked down and flavoured with a secret blend of spices, is generously spread onto the bottom half. The top is placed back and gently pressed. Ready to be enjoyed fresh or packaged.
